TeamworkPM Integration

Hi,

I'm testing Eon to see if I can integrate it in my workflow. I use TeamworkPM to keep track of projects, tasks, and time. I know EON integrates with that service but I think I'm missing something. When I sync my tasks I just get a list of tasks from my projects. Since some projects have tasks that are named the same it can get confusing on which is the correct task that I want to track time against. Is there a way to display the project and task list name in EON to make choosing the task easier?

Thanks

    Hi Carlos,

    I've tried to make the menu more hierarchical in this beta:

    Let me know if it helps you. Note it's a beta, there may be bugs - if you run into any, just post about the issue here and I'll fix it immediately.

    Krystof,

    Thanks for the update. It looks good but I can't see the Project Name in the tasks list, is there any way you could add that? Also, the time that I have logged against my tasks in TeamworkPM is not showing up for the tasks. All tasks show 00:00:00.

    Thanks

    Hi Carlos,

    I'm not quite sure what you mean by the project name in the tasks list - could you give me an example?

    Eon doesn't pull times from TeamworkPM, all of the times are only local in Eon - when you track some time using Eon, the 00:00:00 will change to say 01:10:33 - when posting, this time will be added to your TeamworkPM timesheet.

    Krystof,

    I just realized that just adding the project name would not solve the issue for me. TeamworkPM has a multi-level structure: Project->Task List->Task.

    I have something like this in TeamworkPM:
    Project 1
    -> Task List 1

     -> Task 1
     -> Task 2

    -> Task List 2

     -> Task 1
     -> Task 2

    Project 2
    -> Task List 1

     -> Task 1
     -> Task 2

    When I sync TeamworkPM Tasks with EON I can see something like:
    Task 1 - 00:00:00
    Task 2 - 00:00:00
    Task 1 - 00:00:00
    Task 2 - 00:00:00
    Task 1 - 00:00:00
    Task 2 - 00:00:00

    By Adding the project name and task list name to the EON task list I could see something like:
    Project 1 - Task List 1 - Task 1 - 00:00:00
    Project 1 - Task List 1 - Task 2 - 00:00:00
    Project 1 - Task List 2 - Task 1 - 00:00:00
    Project 1 - Task List 2 - Task 2 - 00:00:00
    Project 2 - Task List 1 - Task 1 - 00:00:00
    Project 2 - Task List 1 - Task 2 - 00:00:00

    That way I can easily identify which task I want to track time for.

    Thanks,
    Carlos

    Hi Carlos,

    here's an improved version. I don't want to add the project level, as it would slow down loading time as well as make the menu too much of a labyrinth. But if you think it would make things better for you, I'll add it.

    Krystof,

    Hi. The new selection layout is much better for me. However I still get all tasks for all projects in a single list which makes it difficult to distinguish between specific project tasks and for me that is critical.

    I understand that adding another level to the navigation could be cumbersome for users that don't need that level of detail. However, I really need to know which project the task I want to time belongs to. Maybe you could allow the user to select a specific project from TeamworkPM when creating a Project in EON.

    Thanks for all your help!

    Perfect!
    One more question... How do I delete a project from EON?

    Thanks!

    If you mean the local one, just hold down the option key when browsing the menu.

    Perfect, buying EON right now!

    On a side note, great job on providing support. I wish all app developers were this dedicated to support their users and prospective users.

    Thanks

    Thanks! :D Note that if you purchase it now, it won't have the fixed hierarchy - you'll need to wait for an update that will fix it.

    Oops! Bought it already via AppStore, but at least I know the fix is coming...

    Thanks!
