Eon - Could Not Post the message! to Basecamp
Whenever I try to post to some of my projects "Post Time to Basecamp Timeline" I get this error message. It says to check my internet connection and login info. Well I checked my login info and copied it from another "working" project. My connection is fine. So where is the issue?
There's this one project, that Eon is just never able to post my time to..
I'm on Mac Book
Mac OS 10.6.4
I really like the app and wanna buy it, but this issue keeps on coming back...

Hey jt,
Please, check that your current Basecamp plan supports timeline posting. Also note that not all projects might have timeline posting enabled (check that with your admin).
If neither helps, please, follow step 3 in this guide: http://help.fuelcollective.com/faqs/fuel-collective/reporting - which might tell me more, where the problem is.
Best,
Krystof

Hi Krystof,
I am the admin of the Basecamp account... I'm not sure what exactly you call "timeline posting", but if you are reffering to the TIME entries in basecamp, than yes, they are enabled for us for all projects by default.
This only happens for this one project so far. I tired re-entering the project info several times and still get the same error on this same one project.
So I followed step 3. Turned the FClogging. Launched the app, tried submitting the time, got the error. And here's what I had in the log from EON (attached).
thanks, looking forward resolving this issue.

Thanks for the log.
The way Eon works with Basecamp is that it requests an empty time-entry template (created by Basecamp) which is then filled out and sent back. The log reads that Eon wasn't even able to retreive the template - it got a 403 error - not sure why. If Eon works with other projects, I'd try contacting Basecamp support as they can take a look at the project itself to see if there isn't some kind of problem on their end.
If you're still unable to resolve it with Basecamp's support, I'll try creating some special builds for you that would add more logging and would try some more 'experimental' methods to get it working.

Thank you for looking into this. I sent the information to Basecamp support.
Waiting for an answer.

Hey Krystof
The 403 error code indicates that you don’t have permission to act on that
project. It sounds like the Basecamp user account you’re using with the API
doesn’t have permission to access the zeeBigBang.com project. Try adding
that user account to the project using the People and Permissions screen and
then try another API call.
If you continue to run into problems let me know which user account your
using to work with the API and I’ll take a closer look.

There's probably really some permissions issue, maybe hidden from you by Basecamp by mistake, otherwise I cannot explain this behavior. Sorry.

So I figured it out. It was all my fault. Thank you for your help thus far and sorry for the confusion..
What happened was that I had 2 projects with very similar names, and I had selected the wrong project. The wrong project happened to be archived, and that's way posting to it is impossible. I just switched to the right project (which is active) and everything works perfectly.
If I can suggest something from this experience is that, you guys should not list Archived projects in my basecamp account. It's a bit pointless having them there.
Same thing goes for completed tasks. The reason I don't ever post to "Bascamp to-do" but rather to "Basecamp Timeline" is that the way the to-do's are displayed in Eon it's impossible to find the task I'm working on from hundreds of to-dos in a project (most of which I have already completed)...
Thank you again!
cheers
