Is there a way to tell by looking at the menu bar icon if there are new discussions that Meaty has picked up? I would have expected it to change color or something, but it doesn't seem to change at all. Am I supposed to be able to know if there are new discussions without clicking on the menu bar icon?

    Hi Tamara,

if Meaty has found a new update to any discussion (or a new discussion) since launch/last time you clicked on its menu bar icon, the dots will be blue. Clicking on the icon or relaunching it will lose the "new update available" flag.

Hmm. I have seen that happen sometimes since starting this discussion,
but other times I click on the icon and there are new messages I
haven't seen, and it wasn't blue.

    Hi Tamara,

    The idea is following:

    • you may have unread messages to threads - that's the blue icon in the menu next to the discussion.
    • when Meaty detects a new message, it will change its icon in the menu bar to blue - this state will persist only until you open the menu - then it will go back to the black & white icon. This way you can "dismiss" the unread notifications.
    • when you launch Meaty, the icon is B&W by default, even though there are discussions you haven't seen.

I'll try looking into it more closely, however.
