Do you have a customs settings for an iPad and the iPhone in one settings? I have and iPad and an iPhone 3gs and I would like to watch the movies in my iPad with good quality and the same movies in my iPhone... You know sometimes you don't have your iPad but the iPhone is always in your hands,,, Can you help me to create a customs settings for this?

I don´t have the iPhone 4, I suppose that it can play the settings for the iPad or nearly..

    Hi,

I, unfortunately, do not own either an iPad nor iPhone 3GS. Have you tried adding an iPad-converted movie to your iPhone 3GS? If it doesn't work then there isn't a higher common quality for both devices as we're using the highest resolution any iPhone is capable of.

What version of Permute are you currently using? Are you using the beta version?

Would you like to try it with a beta of 1.0.5?

    Hello,

We're running a Permute 1.0.5 beta program and you've been invited. If you do not wish to participate, you don't have to, it's completely up to you.

Please, if you run into any problems, create a new thread and mention that you're using the beta. Thanks!

    Important

DO NOT SHARE THIS INFORMATION ANYWHERE.

This beta program is closed, for a few selected users.

The tools are built for 32-bit computers only at the moment, which may result in slightly slower conversions. They will be fully 64-bit in the official release.

    Why beta for 1.0.5?

We've done some huge changes under the hood that need some testing, mostly from people, who've reported previously some problems. The complete list of changes is listed below.

    What should I do?

All you have to do is download Permute here: http://fuelcollective-updates.s3.amazonaws.com/permute/Permute_244.zip and replace the old one with it. Note that Permute needs newer version of tools, so you won't be able to use the regular version meanwhile - see the section about uninstalling.

What happens when you release the real thing?

You'll be able to update from the beta via the built-in updater to the release version. There might be a few beta releases inbetween, though.

I don't like the beta, how do I uninstall it?

Remove the app and remove the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Permute/ - you should then be able to run the old Permute, which will download an older version of its tools.

    What has changed in 1.0.5?

Here's an incomplete list of changes:
    • Fixes in iPhone, iPod, AppleTV presets.
    • Crash fixes.
    • Option for framerate.
    • Ability to disable presets, so they don't get listed.
    • 5.1 Surround audio support (if codec supports it).
    • Option for selecting a fixed destination.
    • Support for drag&drop download of YouTube and Vimeo movies (instead of files, drop the links).
    • MPEG-1 preset.
    • AppleScript support (see our FAQ section how to create a 'Hot folder')
    • Apple Lossless preset.
    • PSP preset.
    • Theora Ogg Video preset.
    • If a video has more than one audio track, we let you decide which one to use (including on DVD).
    • 16:9 DVD aspect ratio.
